Our WEEE Recycling services deliver a range of sustainable treatment options for our customers Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment (WEEE), aimed at reducing both the environmental and financial cost of waste.
Electronic waste is one of the fastest growing waste streams in the world and includes anything that is powered by a battery or plug socket.
The growing volume of this type of waste, and its potentially hazardous nature, means that items such as fridges, washing machines, laptops and smart phones must be disposed of responsibly.
At WEEE Scotland we do this in a safe and compliant way, using the latest technology to ensure our WEEE Recycling services contribute effectively to our customers net zero ambitions, diverting 100% of their electronic waste away from landfill.
Our Approach
With over 50 years combined experience in WEEE Recycling, our team of experts is on hand to offer you best practice advice and keep you right regarding the legal obligations surrounding your waste electrical and electronic equipment.
We operate one of only two e-waste shredders in Scotland and can process up to xx tonnes of e-waste per year, providing us with the flexibility to meet the demands of large scale projects and smaller business needs.
As suppliers to some of the UK’s top manufacturers, distributors and resellers of electrical equipment, we work closely with customers across a wide range of industry sectors. So, whether you are looking for a recycling route for your office IT equipment or have a large decommissioning project, our experienced operatives can support the careful management of your electrical and electronic resources.
Circularity & Security
As a business, we are driven by the principles of circular economy and our WEEE recycling process is designed to extend the life of the many finite composite materials found in WEEE.
At our licensed facility in central Scotland, our state-of-the-art WEEE Shredder and downstream sorting system shreds, sorts and segregates WEEE materials. This approach ensures that these precious resources are captured and used to manufacture ‘new’ products, helping to reduce the demand for raw materials.
The nature of many electrical items means that the need for secure destruction and data erasure is essential. Using White Canyon software and shredding facility, WEEE Scotland provides a range of services which protect the previous owners data, while also allowing their electronic assets to be reused or disposed of in the most sustainable way. We offer Secure Data Destruction of Hard Drives, USB Drives, Solid State Drives and PCB’s. Further, in line with our ISO 27001 accreditation, we can deliver the swift and safe destruction of sensitive material within 24 hours of collection, alongside supporting paperwork and certificates of destruction.
