Working with businesses across the UK, WEEE Scotland helps customers to extend the life of their electrical equipment and machinery in line with circular economy principles. Our hardware repair department drives reuse of ICT, providing secure data erasure services, refurbishment and repair. The overall aim being to retain value and extend the life of high-value electronic assets.
Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Booking in collections according to specification, using approved software and systems
Facilitating the secure storage, removal and sanitisation/destruction of data bearing devices in a strictly controlled environment using wiping, degaussing and shredding methods
Execute necessary hardware upgrades and install updated software to enhance laptop performance
Refurbish and repair tech equipment to a high, sale-ready standard
Working with administrators to relay vital goods-in data and paperwork
Undertaking regular stock taking and checks
Liaising with buyers for resale of refurbished ICT
Identifying and bringing forward ideas for process improvement, quality enhancements, and efficiency cost savings
Candidate requirements:
Essential:
Previous experience working in IT repair
Previous experience with data erasure software
Awareness of Data Protection Act 2018
Computer literate with a keen interest in technology
Awareness of IT component parts with a passion to learn
Excellent time keeping
Self-motivated and resilient, with a strong work ethic
Good knowledge of public safety and security
Ability to follow instructions with excellent attention to detail
Great written and spoken communication skills
Drive to succeed and learn in an industry that is ever changing and growing
Experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong numeracy and literacy
Will be subject to Disclosure Scotland check
Desirable:
· Full driving license
· Forklift driving license
