Climate Action Champion
WEEE Scotland is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded the Climate Action Champion title at this year’s Scottish Impact Awards, held last week in Glasgow. The award, sponsored by The Scottish National Investment Bank, recognises organisations that are delivering measurable progress in the fight against climate change. The night was hosted by Zara Janjua, who guided guests through a celebration of the very best in Scotland’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) achievements.
“WEEE Scotland wins the Climate Action Champion Award for turning ambition into measurable impact. In just two years they’ve cut carbon emissions by 22%, reduced waste by 66%, and repaired over 27,000 components, proving that circular economy innovation can protect the planet while creating green jobs and opportunity.”
WEEE Scotland was also shortlisted for the Sustainable Innovation Award, reflecting its commitment to practical, impactful solutions that support a circular economy and reduce environmental harm.
These achievements highlight the company’s mission to tackle the UK’s growing e-waste challenge by making it easier for businesses to responsibly dispose of and repurpose electronic equipment. By focusing on repair, reuse, and resource recovery, WEEE Scotland is helping to protect the planet while supporting the creation of green jobs and sustainable economic growth.
“We’re absolutely delighted to be recognised as Climate Action Champion,” said Gerry Docherty, Managing Director, at WEEE Scotland. “This award is a testament to the dedication of our team and the businesses we work with who are committed to reducing their environmental impact. It shows that practical, local action can drive real change.”
The Scottish Impact Awards celebrate organisations across Scotland that are making a difference in communities, the environment, and the economy. WEEE Scotland’s recognition affirms its role as a leader in sustainable practice and climate responsibility.
