About the role:

 

Working with businesses across the UK, WEEE Scotland helps customers to extend the life of their electrical equipment and machinery, and dispose of redundant electronics in a safe, sustainable and compliant way. As a Goods-In Operative you will be responsible for the effective management of loads arriving onto site, processing them in a manner which retains value via opportunities for reuse or resale, and ensuring accurate records are made in order to meet legislative requirements.

Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the below:

·       Booking in collections according to specification, using approved software and systems

·       Processing all delivery paperwork

·       Inspecting loads to ensure conformance with paperwork

·       Operation of weighbridge- weighing off loads on-site, recording accurately and highlighting any issues/discrepancies to management

·       Breaking down and recording collections/deliveries by material type

·       Sorting and labelling items passed for re-use

·       Sorting failed items for entry into the recycling side of the business

·       Physical moving and manual dismantling of WEEE materials

·       Facilitating the secure storage, removal and sanitisation/destruction of data bearing devices in a strictly controlled environment

·       Removal of identifying marks like old PAT test labels and asset tags etc.

·       Daily updating of stock and production data

·       Working with administrators to relay vital goods-in data and paperwork

·       Liaising with management, as required on all key issues concerning goods-in

·       Helping to maintain and drive high standards for site housekeeping

·       Identifying and bringing forward ideas for process improvement, quality enhancements and efficiency cost savings

  

Candidate requirements:

Essential:

·       Excellent time keeping

·       Self-motivated and resilient, with a strong work ethic

·       Good knowledge of health, safety and security

·       Ability to follow instructions with excellent attention to detail

·       Great written and spoken communication skills

·       Drive to succeed and learn in an industry that is ever changing and growing

·       Experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel

·       Strong numeracy and literacy

·       Heavy lifting (fit and able to lift)

Desirable:

·       Previous experience working in the resource management/recycling sector

·       Good knowledge of materials processing

·       Full driving license

·       Forklift driving license
