Haz Waste Awareness Campaign

In recent months there have been several large fires and incidents at waste and recycling facilities in the UK, which were subsequently attributed to the incorrect disposal of hazardous items.

In Glasgow, there has been a significant increase in hazardous – often explosive – items being deposited in domestic bins. As a result, Glasgow City Council is launching a public awareness campaign to help educate householders on the safe and environmentally friendly ways to dispose of hazardous waste.

The Council has reached out to businesses like ours to help support the campaign when it launches later in the month. We will be using our own social media platforms to highlight the dangers of disposing of hazardous waste in general waste bins and will be sharing posts from GCC too.
