Launch of GAP Alba Recycling Plant
WEEE Scotland was proud to attend the official opening of the GAP Alba plant earlier this week—an event that marks a major milestone for Scotland’s circular economy and a bright step forward in the nation’s sustainability journey.
The new facility, launched by GAP Group and attended by First Minister John Swinney, represents a bold investment in the future of e-waste recycling and responsible resource management. Directors Lyndsay Stewart and Gerry Docherty represented WEEE Scotland at the event, underscoring the organisation’s ongoing commitment to supporting innovative infrastructure across the sector.
“This kind of infrastructure is exactly what we need to support responsible recycling and drive real environmental impact in Scotland,” said Gerry Docherty, Managing Director of WEEE Scotland. “We’re proud to stand alongside industry leaders who share our commitment to sustainability.”
The launch also coincided with a celebration of GAP Group’s 20th anniversary—a significant moment reflecting two decades of environmental leadership and resilience in the recycling industry.
WEEE Scotland extends warm congratulations to the entire GAP team for bringing this vision to life. We look forward to the continued evolution of recycling in Scotland and the collective efforts shaping a cleaner, greener future.
