Stepping Up to Net Zero
We are delighted to welcome Tiomoid Foley to the WEEE Scotland team following the completion of his 4 month placement here as Step up to Net Zero (SU2NZ) Co-ordinator.
Tiomoid joined us in January 2023 in a position funded by the Glasgow Green Deal, which assists SMEs with reaching their carbon targets. During this 4 month period, Tiomoid has been able to build a framework that allowed us to measure our first years’ worth of carbon emissions data. He has also worked closely with all departments to review our internal recycling processes, to allow us to make savings and recycle more efficiently.
Tiomoid has also engaged a number of external organisations for support, and has been working closely with the University of Strathclyde’s EXTEND programme, looking at benchmarking our carbon and finding more creative ways to reduce this. He looks forward to continuing his work ,developing a strategy for WEEE Scotland to half our emissions in the next few years, and to be Net Zero with the rest of Glasgow City through the council’s ambitious 2030 target.
“Sustainability is something that not only makes us more environmentally friendly but also saves on company resources and finances, allowing for business continuity and survival into a more sustainable future as the world rapidly changes.”
Tiomoid Foley, Sustainability Co-ordinator
